Scientists Say Eating Insects is Good For Health
A team of scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison found in a new study that eating cricket is good for gut health.
What Is Happened?
Valerie Stull, the first author of the new study, said: “It is very interesting to eat insects. It is a long-term environmentally friendly source of protein.” Scientists also point out that insects also contain vitamins, minerals and health fat.
The scientists compared data from two groups of volunteers who participated in the experiment. One group of foods was supplemented with mashed powder. The analysis data of this group of volunteers showed that their metabolic enzymes, which indicate the healthy function of the intestinal tract, increased, and the TNF-α protein in the blood which affects both lipid metabolism and immune defense is reduced. In addition, "barium meal" can increase the number of beneficial animal Bifidobacterium animalis, which can improve gastrointestinal function. The results of this research paper were published in the Scientific Reports.
