Paeonolis a Chinese herbal medicine extracted from the root bark of China's national flower Peony. Paeonol has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and allergic inhibition effects. It has obvious analgesic effect on pain caused by physical or chemical factors such as tail pressure and acetic acid. It has an obvious inhibitory effect on inflammation caused by carrageenan, egg white, formaldehyde, histamine, serotonin, bradykinin, xylene and endotoxin.
Paeonol, melting point 49℃-51℃, special smell, slightly spicy; soluble in ethanol and methanol, soluble in ether, acetone, benzene, chloroform and carbon disulfide, slightly soluble in water, in hot water Dissolved in water, insoluble in cold water, can evaporate with water vapor.
